JCI is an official agency of the Government of India for Implementing the Policy of providing a Minimum Support Price (MSP) to the Jute Growers. It has 171 Departmental Purchase Centers and 16 Regional Offices in 7 Jute Growing States i.e. West Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya with Head Office at Kolkata

Invites Applications for the following posts:

Marketing Manager :

  • Scale of PayRs. 24900-50500 (Revised IDA Scale of 2007)
  • Age45-50 years (Age can be relaxed in case of departmental candidates & candidates having high academic standards)
  • Place of Posting-Kolkata
  • No. of posts2 (Two)
  • Qualification & Experiences
    1) A degree from a recognized University and/or a Degree/Diploma in Jute Technology.
    2) Should have at least 3 years experience in a similar capacity or 5 years experience in an immediate lower capacity in operations involving purchase / sale of jute/other commodities in a Public Sector Undertaking or Commercial/Industrial Organization of repute with adequate knowledge of Computer.
    3) Should possess proficiency in marketing of raw jute / jute goods/other commodities with administrative ability.
    Desirable: knowledge in insurance/storage.
  • Job Profile
    1) To develop, establish and maintain marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
    2) Manage and co-ordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional activities with the assistance of Deputy and Assistant Marketing Managers.
    3) Forecasting of raw jute production with feedback from field level officials, projection of prices at various periods of the season.
    4) Understand needs of the jute cultivators and provide them with adequate inputs for encouraging raw jute production. Sharing of information with as many jute farmers as possible by holding awareness programmes on various techniques developed for producing better quality and improved fibre yield and market information.
    5) To analyze current market condition and understand strategies of the private traders who are considered as our competitors when the market is ruling above the government declared Support Price.
    6) Monitor, review and report on all marketing activities and results.
    7) Liaison with media and advertising agency/government departments.

Manager (MIS/Systems) :

  • Scale of Pay Rs. 24900-50500 (Revised IDA Scale of 2007)
  • Age 40-45 years (Age can be relaxed in case of departmental candidates & candidates having high academic standards)
  • Place of Posting - Kolkata
  • No. of posts-1 (One)
  • Qualification & Experiences
    1) BE/B.Tech (Computer Science) from a recognized University.
    2) Should have at least 7-10 years experience in related fields.
    Desirable: knowledge in general administration/Finance/Personnel/Marketing.
  • Job Profile
    1) Responsible for progressively increasing levels of computerisation in JCI at the micro level.
    2) Implementation and supervision of Data Processing on Server-Client LAN installation in the office towards enhancement of office MIS functions encompassing the whole range of Data Processing and Database Management with a view to increasing the capacity for handling of numerical and textual data pertaining to the Foundation's scheme.
    3) Evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring that facilities meet these needs.
    4) Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems.

Trainee IT Officer:

  • Scale of Pay- Rs. 16400-40500 (Revised IDA Scale of 2007). Selected candidates will get consolidated pay of Rs. 10000 in the first year and Rs. 15000 in the second year. They may be absorbed in the rank of Asst. Manager as IT Officer of the Corporation after successful completion of 2 years.
  • Age 25-30 years (Relaxation may be considered in case of deserving candidates)
  • No. of posts - 10 (Ten)
  • Place of Posting - Four in Kolkata & one each in Berhampore, Malda, Siliguri, Purnea, Guwahati, Nagaon.
  • Qualification & Experiences
    1) BE/B.Tech (Computer Science) / MCA from a recognized University.
    2) Fresh candidates with outstanding academic record or with minimum 2 years experience in related fields.
  • Job Profile
    1) System Design, Development and Programming, System Administration, Database Administration, Network operation & Management.
    2) Installation, Implementation and Maintenance of Softwares and Hardwares.
    3) Overall supervision of works related to Installation, Operation and Maintenance of the Computer System and EDP works of the organisation.
    4) Assistance and Training to users in day-to-day computer related jobs.
    5) Management of Data in a Client/Server Computer System.
    6) General supervision of works of the data entry and management of data of DPCs, ROs, Head Office of all departments and of Computer Section.
